Tree of Life

August 25th, 2010 | By Dina

Praise and blame, gain and loss, pleasure and sorrow come and go like the wind.
To be happy, rest like a giant tree in the midst of them all.

Barb and Me

August 11th, 2010 | By Dina

Odawni Palmer, NiaDu Support Crew Member snapped this lovely black & white shot of Barb and I at our last meeting.

I am so grateful to be in happy and healthy partnership with Barb! We’ve been through a lot, and have really bonded through the years.
I expect great things from our dynamic relatedness in the months and years to come!

Love Thy Self

August 5th, 2010 | By Dina

Self-care is never a selfish act…it is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on earth to offer to others.

Anytime we can listen to true self, and give it the care it requires, we do so not only for ourselves, but for the many others whose lives we touch.

– Parker Palmer

On Our Way In

July 31st, 2010 | By Dina

Our workshop is on the runway, waiting for take-off in a few short hours.

I just finished eating my fresh, local, organic sauteed vegetable dinner which I prepared for myself quietly. I feel full in the best possible way.

Togetherness awaits, vibrations to a higher ground.

I present my offering up to Great Spirit for a blessing. Wise, true, beautiful ancient ones…use me…focus your light in me and let it be useful, let it be a blessing. I am a vessel for your love. My voice – your voice. My heart, your heart. My body, your body.

This is your workshop, Nia. I step out of the way for your wisdom to flow in, through, and as me. I know that it is already done. And it’s so very… SEXY!

Sweet Honey

July 28th, 2010 | By Dina

“Last night, as I was sleeping

I dreamt-oh marvelous error!-

That I had a beehive

Here inside my heart.

And the golden bees

Were making white combs

And sweet honey

From my old failures.”

- Antonio Machado, trans. By Robert Bly

Soft Breeze

July 27th, 2010 | By Dina

Sometime go outside and sit,
In the evening at sunset,

When there’s a slight breeze that touches your body,
And makes the leaves and the trees move gently.

You’re not trying to do anything, really.
You’re simply allowing yourself to be,

Very open from deep within,
Without holding onto anything whatsoever.

Don’t bring something back from the past, from a memory.
Don’t plan that something should happen.
Don’t hold onto anything in the present.

Nothing you perceive needs to be nailed down.
Simply let experience take place, very freely,
So that your empty, open heart
Is suffused with the tenderness of true compassion.

The Strange Pull

July 22nd, 2010 | By Dina

Let yourself be silently drawn
by the strange pull of what you really love.
It will not lead you astray.
